Progress Bar/slider not working with my account

Okay I have done almost everything I could find online and feeling super frustrated right now. I am using an iphone 11 pro max. The progress bar on my account was not working, I couldn't rewind or forward a song, it just won't drag. I uninstalled the app with the method suggested already several time didn't do anything. I thought it might be a phone issue so I changed phone, logged into spotify on another phone with my account, still not working. Then I made a new account and it is working on that account on both phones. So the issue is with my particular account. But what is the issue? No setting were changed when I switched account. Both account are free. Please help.

Hey there,

 

Thanks for posting in the Community.

 

The playback position slider is not movable on a free account. If you were able to do it on a free account, it means the free account was either new (new accounts receive some testable features available to Premium users) or it was an old account, which was part of an exploratory test for a certain feature.

 

Hope this clears things a bit.

If you were able to do it on a free account, it means the free account was either new (new accounts receive some testable features available to Premium users) or it was an old account, which was part of an exploratory test for a certain feature.

Thank you. I had a feeling that this might be the case but I was confused why it was working on other free accounts then. I will upgrade to premium (which I was planning to anyways). However I do feel that such a basic feature should be free and available for everyone. But then again it is not my call, I can just make a suggestion as a user.

Could you let us know if this is only happening with the device you mentioned or with other external devices as well? We'd also like to know if this has always happened or if it has started happening after a specific event such as an update. 

 

On another note, could you send us a screenshot of what you're seeing on your end? You can attach it to your next response by using the Insert image option in the post editor. Make sure not to send any private info.
