Ads that don't seem embeded by the content creator on podcasts

Why am I hearing ads on my premium membership when I listen to podcasts ? I chatted with a customer service agent today that kept telling me the ads were embeded in the episodesby the content creators themselves but I went back to the podcast it happened on and got a new ad at the beginning that wasn't there the first time. Plus the ad is holiday related which is on a podcast episode that was released a year ago before the pandemic. I thought Spotify Premium was meant to be ad-free ? Why am I giving you money if you are also collecting from advertisers ? 

I understand when content creators endorse and advertise products during their podcast but those ads feel like they are being pushed on me directly from Spotify ? Why is that ? How can we know who is embeding the ads, the creator or Spotify ? More transparency is required with ads. Its not ok.

But more importantly how do I make it stop ?

Podcasters can choose to allow ads on their podcast apart from their paid promotion, which is embedded in the particular episode.

There are other users who feel the same way about ads in podcasts. You can go ahead and add your +Vote on this Idea to show support.

I understand podcasters can decide to embed ads in their episode and there is different ways to do that, but I haven't got a clear answer yet from Spotify as to if Spotify also circulate their own ads on podcasts ? 

It's unclear as to who endorse these ads.
