Android deleting and re-downloading my synced albums

I recently swapped by iphone for a samsung galaxy s5 in order to be able to have more storage for music using the sd card and until yesterday had put all my own music from my laptop on my sd card in the phone and my spotify downloads on the device memory. Last night however I followed instructions from a post on here to swap the storage of spotify download to the sd card as well. I woke up this morning thinking the songs would all have been downloaded but was only at 19%. I kept spotify open and as expected they all started downloading, however whilst listening through bluetooth headphones each song I listened to was stopping well before the end of the song and would only restart or be audible if I disconnected and reconnected the bluetooth or clicked onto the next sng. After this I noticed that despite all offline play lists having finished downloading some of them were showing as unavailable so I restarted my phone at which point every single downloaded song began to download again. After them all downloading the second time a song once again stopped playing half way through and again all or the downloaded songs were no longer available and I'm having to download them all again. Is this anything to do with how they are now saving to the SD card and does anyone have any suggestions?
