Android fails to play over bluetooth until other app plays

My Question or Issue

I open Spotify in Android, press Play. It starts playing then pauses. I repeat, it pauses. I press play, nothing happens. Repeatedly. I open another app (Voice Recorder, for example), play something. I return to Spotify and press Play. It plays successfully.

Does this make any sense?

Thanks for posting in the Community and welcome.

To begin with, if you haven't tried it yet, it might help to completely unpair/forget, and re-pair the Bluetooth device. Additionally, restart both devices and check if the issue persists.

If that doesn't help, we'd suggest running a clean reinstall of the Spotify app by following these steps. You won't lose any content, you'll just need to download your offline music again.

If you're still experiencing the situation after that, let us know the make and model of the Bluetooth device you're using, along with the Spotify version you have installed.
