Background bug found 22.march 2023

Background bug found 22.march 2023

Hey yo, during my listening my background of the app got stuck as if it was my playlist that I was previewing before going back in menus.

step-by-step of my actions:
1. while listening to a song using new shuffle function in song view.
2. pressed add to playlist in song menu
3. few wierd unconditional jumps from menu to menu happened
4. instead of choose playlist menu my playlist opened (that was currently playing)
5. pressed back a few times
6. and there it was

I took a screenshot of how it looks, so I can send it if needed

Hi there @Niqutin

Thanks for reaching out. Could you please provide us the following:

  • Is this on all devices or only on specific one(s)?
  • The exact makes, models and OS/Firmware versions of all your affected devices
  • The exact Spotify Versions you use.
  • The screenshots you mentioned or better yet a video of the behaviour

With this information, we’d be happy to investigate.

Keep us posted.

Okay first of all, here is a screenshot.

I didn't try to cause this bug on other devices, so for now the only one I know about is a:

OnePlus 9 model LE2113

running a OxygenOS version 13.0

Spotify version 8.8.18.509

Also also, I have updated just now to version 8.8.20.544 and tried to cause the bug again, and it's still there, I will attach a screen recording (version of phone and OS is same as in my previous response)

Hey @Niqutin,

Thanks for your reply and for the video recording shared.

In this case, we'd like to gather some additional info. Can you replicate this behavior on a different mobile device? It’d be awesome and helpful if you could check. You can ask for the mobile device of a relative or a friend to open your account and check.

On another note, is this happening just with this specific playlist or does it happen no matter what playlist you're listening to? If not sure, you can check and let us know.

Lastly, did you notice if this started to happen after a specific event such as an OS update? If yes, please send us the details.

Keep us in the loop!

I apologize for late reply @AlejaR (forgot to turn on notifications on this site),

I must say that now I can't replicate this bug on my phone after installing version 8.8.22.510 of Spotify. (it's resolved then?)

I could still try it out on other devices for you, and let you know.
