Downloaded songs are deleted/unloaded randomly without permission

I've been having this problem for some time now... Sometimes I'll check my downloaded albums and find that all of them have been removed from my cellphone storage. The albums are still being saved by Spotify on My Music... it's just the locally saved albums are being unloaded.

I have the same problem.  I only signed up to spotify almost one month ago (so still on my free month).  I downloaded half a dozen albums and listened to some of the albums.  This morning I noticed there is only one album downloaded.  The rest are still in my library but are not in the download mode.

What's going on?

I have exactly the same behavior, really annoying, especially when you're about to jump into a plane for a 3 hours long flight.

Honestly, I've moved from Spotify to Google Play Music at this point lol. Not only I had this problem, but I realized there was a limit to the number of songs saved and a limit to the songs downloaded. Spotify's mobile app is overall better than Google's though.

If if helps in someway, my phone was storing the spotify albums into an external SD. Not sure if it makes any difference tbh.
