same here, also when I want to shuffle my numbers I click on Shuffle, then it plays usually the same song. Afterwards when I click on forward to skip the song, the app doesn't respond. Really really strange behavior 😞
Also does it happen to you guys as well that the album art doesn't match with the currently playing song?
I've had the song covers go out of sync a few times, but it isn't near as big a problem as these songs not going to the next. I'm spending hours sanding a car down and it's getting incredibly annoying having to stop and go to my phone to continue to the next song. I've had this problem for a week now and I'm not going to stick with spotify if this doesn't get fixed soon.
Yeah I have this as well on S5 with kitkat os.
Same issue, Android 4.3 on a GT-I9505. Already went through all the motions of deleting data (ouch, the redownloads took a long time), uninstalling Spotify, etc..
Filling in the template:
Description
As others have mentioned, some songs will not automatically advance to the next one. I have to manually press the next button. After experimenting with shuffle on and off, it seems to be based on the current song, not what the next song is.
This is an issue on 2.2.0.636 (latest Google Play version). I have tested a copy of 2.1.0.903 (restored via Titanium Backup, the last one I was using prior to updating five days ago), and it does not exhibit this issue. I will be using this older version until this is fixed. I'm happy to test any other versions you can provide.
What are the steps you took to get to the error/issue?
1. Deleted cache, reinstalled Spotify from Google Play
2. Added last.fm account (possibly not necessary to repro)
4. Set download quality to extreme (again, possibly not necessary)
5. Go to "Your Music" => "Artists" => "Avril Lavigne" (all five major albums "saved")
6. Download all of this artist
7. Select the song "Hot" from the downloaded music artist page
8. Skip to near the end (optional - saves ~3 minutes)
9. I would expect it to advance to the next track when the song ends. It does not. Instead, it sits at the end of the current track - the pause button is there. Also looks like it tries to go 2 seconds past the end before jumping back.
Note that this does not occur for all tracks. It has occurred on this one track for all cache wipes and reinstalls I have attempted. It also occures on some other tracks, including a playlist I downloaded from local files on my desktop.
What I expected to happen
Expected the player to advance to the next song.

I didn't even think of going back to the previous version. Thanks for the link.
Thanks for that, unfortunately install fails with "This app could not be installed" for me.
Another workaround for me has been to pause and unpause using the inline controls of my headphones. Hopefully it's fixed in the next google play release.

Make sure you have enabled 'Unknown Sources' in the Android scurity settings to be able to install apk's directly. If it stll fails you may have to uninstall the current version in order to be able to revert (note, this will clear any settings and offline files).
If you have a lot of offline content then you may be better off just waiting for a fixed update.
Already had phone setup to allow install of any apk.
Yeah I would have just tried uninstalling but with about 20GB of offline music synced to my phone it's easier to just wait for an update than resync.

Yeah, I'm also 'putting up with it' until fixed as I dont want to clear my downloaded playlists either.
