Songs refusing to download onto Android device from Local

Songs refusing to download onto Android device from Local

I have a song that I have downloaded locally from desktop to device many many times, but suddenly the device refuses to download it.

I can see it in the list it just wont download. I can play it on my desktop Spotify from local file.

Any advice ?

Please read the support topic here for assistance setting up local file sync: Listen to local files

Make sure that you are on the same WiFi network and Windows & third party firewalls are configured to allow the Spotify connection through.

Another point to note is that sometimes if a track is stored locally & is also available to stream then when you sync to your device it will automatically use the Spotify streaming version but the data from your playlist. If for some reason the metadata such as track length differs this can cause conflict and break the track. In this instance you are best off removing the local file from your playlist on the desktop and adding the track from the Spotify server then re-sync. This should fix this issue.

Hi

Thanks for reply, I should perhaps have been clearer in my question

The song in question, is one of a hundred that I am adding from my computer to my phone. they are my own songs and are guaranteed not available on Spotify 😃

Spotify on my PC will play the song no problem from my directory, but when I add the song to the playlist to be downloaded to my phone it stays grey and will neither stream nor download to my phone. The same song/file has downloaded to phone previously without any problems it is a normal MP3 file.

I have tried

Deleting the file/song and re-downloading it

Deleting the entire playlist and re-downloading it

Copying the file and changing the file name and downloading it into another playlist.

For some reason it refuses to be downloaded onto my phone (Phone has 15Gb free space and downloads other songs still without issue)

What version of the desktop app are you using? Some people had this issue about a month ago and fixed it by holding the desktop application.

I have had this problem as well, the only solution I have found that actually works is enable a WiFi hotspot with my phone and conect my Laptop/Desktop computer to it, once my Laptop/Desktop computer is conected to the WiFi generated with my phone go into Spotify in my phone and press available offline and then it synced everything!!
