Okay so one thing I love about the new app is that it seems to be caching and posting more tracks to last.fm while having been forced into "offline" mode (e.g. by way of losing service etc).... but I still don't think its grabbing everything?
Scenario from earlier tonight: I started listening to Spotify underground waiting for a train (so was offiine when I opened the app). It was playing music the entire ride. The subway took me above ground for a few stops (so I regained service for enough time to reconnect), and only songs that were played AFTER the underground section (but including ones played while disconnected) scrobbled successfully. Could it be true that when you start listening in offline mode, Spotiy doesn't cache scrobbles, but when it loses connection inadvertantly (i.e. after bing connected), it builds a cache and posts?
I'm noticing this too. It doesn't scrobble any songs I listen to in offline mode. Not that it's super important, we're all going to die some day. But it'd be nice if it worked like iPods where next time you are connected (by cable or wireless) then it records your scrobbles there and then.
Me agian. I was just googling this problem and it still seems to be there... just me or is everyone having songs dropped because of connection? I'm in NYC so my connection drops a lot because of being in the subway etc.. on my ride this morning, it caught a few songs, but I think I might have had a signal at the time. Definitely didn't get everything.
Like the guy said in 2012, we'll all die some day, but I'd love to know at least if its supposed to be caching scrobbles when its in offline mode/disconnected. Mine doesn't seem to work.
Thanks
I think this should be working on offline mode. Rdio does it pretty well by syncing when you get online. Why can't Spotify do it?
See what I wrote^. iPods can do it.
