Spotify stops when opening a game --> Game volume suddenly very loud

A few days ago, my spotify for desktop started a weird behaviour. Whenever I am listening to music and I start another Desktop App (e.g. Rocket League, also tested with Minecraft) the music stops. Also, suddenly the game sound is increased to a level, which almost ruins my hearing abilities. This is only a problem with Spotify. It happens 100% of the time, so it is totally reproducable.

Help would be very much appreciated!

I have the same exact problem with the spotify desktop app, when I open a game and a song is playing at the same time, the sound from the music cuts and every thing else (sound of the game) is so loud it almost broke my headset
