Getting rid of smart shuffle

My Spotify account recently updated and   have smart shuffle applied to my playlist. I am a Spotify free user and I noticed that regular shuffle is a premium feature only. I understand that some people like this feature, but for the others that just want to listen to their music without some random song coming on every 2 songs, it would be great to have either have this feature eliminated or to have the ability to turn it off. I understand why free users can’t turn it off, because Spotify wants more people to pay, but this feature is very annoying. Many of my friends and loved ones have had the same experience and opinions as me, and are considering leaving Spotify.

There is already at least one other thread on getting rid of this ridiculous “smart“ shuffle with close to 2k likes since May 23, Spotify just don’t care and like to let people moving to other services like me,

As for free listeners you can’t turn smart shuffle off.

I also don't like this. I run a tight ship & unwanted songs, I can do without. If I would have wanted it I would have put it in my list.

The "smart" shuffle is a problem for premium accounts like mine as well, since even for such accounts the choice seems to be either no shuffle or "smart" shuffle. I am experimenting with toggling on shuffle while in queue mode. Let's see if this persistently allows me to have the previously available plain non-"smart" shuffle.

Apparently, Spotify got rid of the standard shuffle for ALL users. Smart shuffle seems to bring in more dollars, so guess what: screw UX (No matter how much one dislikes it, Spotify would have a point restricting a feature for premium users only. Dropping Shuffle altogether for premium users? Keep doing that and soon we'll have another Pandora...

I've been with Spotify for 10 years across different accounts and this one feature is the one that's gonna make me cancel if they don't give me an option to turn it off or just get rid of it all together. All it does it crash the app and bug it out.

I hate it because when I'm in a car and i have regular shuffle on, get to a song in my playlist that has a song i like right next to it, turn shuffle off to go to that song, it just starts the playlist from the beginning.

I don't like any of the artists 'Smart Shuffle' suggests. I immediately Block them & their artists.

Stop playing with my list. I'm getting ready to move on from Spotify. What's Pandora like?

*edit - I like that you brought back playthrough in the background. Little snippets of music & animations are welcome. What I don't like is 21 Savage. I blocked them from playing in my list but they're back. I have to go to the artist link & completely block them.In the future I might like them but you made me block them from playing.
