Hey there @raychmayte,
Thanks for your reply here and for all the info shared.
Kudos for all the troubleshooting you tried so far. We understand where you're coming from. We had a similar issue that was reported here, but this should be fixed as per this moment.
In that sense, we'd recommend (if you haven't yet) you perform a factory reset of your Echo Show device by following these steps. We'd also recommend you make sure the firmware of the Echo Show is up-to-date.
If the above doesn't do the trick, we'd recommend you get in touch with Amazon to see if they can provide further insights into this behavior.
We'll be on the lookout!
Hey there @13267395,
Thanks for getting in touch about this and welcome to the Community.
Could you let us know if this started happening after a specific event such as an update?
On another note, would you mind giving a different internet connection a go to see if that does the trick? You can try creating a hotspot on your phone and using that.
If the issue persists, could you ask a friend or a relative to log in to their account on your devices and check if they can replicate this behavior with their account?
Keep us posted.
Plan: Premium
Country: Brazil
Devices: Echo Show 5 and Echo Show 15
Operating System: Amazon Alexa
I have seven Echo devices: Echo 4, Echo Dot 4, Echo Dot 3, Echo Pop (1 gen), Echo Pop (1 gen), Echo Show 5 (2 gen), and Echo Show 15. Since the beginning of August 2024, Spotify has not been playing on Echo Show devices. Amazon support has been informed that this is a Spotify Skill update issue for devices in the Show family, as the other Echoes continue to play music. All the procedures indicated in the Spotify and Amazon help have already been carried out, such as restarting the network, removing Skill, etc., including resetting the Echo Show 5 and Echo Show 15 devices to factory settings. Amazon Music plays normally on all seven devices. What is the forecast for Spotify to fix its Skill on Amazon for the Show family devices, given that Amazon's indication is that the issue is Spotify's responsibility?
Hi,
I'm getting exactly the same on my Echo Show 5. I thought my Show was needing replacing so I did so. My new one has arrived today, I've just set it up and I'm getting the same issues. Absolutely no issue with 2x echo dot 4th gen and 1x echo dot 3rd gen using the same devices to control.
What's going on?
Edited to add - the Echo Show works perfectly fine with Amazon Music so this is purely a Spotify to Show issue.
Hi there @raychmayte,
Thanks for reaching out!
Have you tried any of @Eni's suggestions? Can you also try restarting the Echo device (unplug it, wait 30 seconds, and plug it back in)? If restarting it doesn't fix the situation, reset the device to its default settings, as that fixes most issues. You can find the steps here according to the Echo device version.
Keep us posted.
I've literally tried everything that's been mentioned in this forum across multiple different threads and like everyone else, still having issues. As mentioned by me and others, it's only the Shows that Spotify is having an issue with interacting with, no other Echo devices. Also, the Amazon Music works perfectly fine.
Just to clarify, I've tried everything you've mentioned and everything elsewhere but to summarise:
Literally the only issue is with Spotify interacting with the Show and it's super frustrating and disappointing that despite people mentioning this for a fair few months, Spotify still haven't resolved it but keep fobbing us off with the 'try this', even though this hasn't worked for anyone!

That doesn't work. It's your skill, why won't you take ownership of the issue? You've been told by multiple people that the issue isn't resolved despite us trying everything. The issue is with your skill and Echo Shows, it isn't an issue with anything else. Please look in to it properly. This is poor customer service from Spotify.
