Windows Desktop says music is unavailable although mobile app works

Windows Desktop says music is unavailable although mobile app works

Hi all!

I am running Spotify with a premium account on a windows 10 desktop and on my iPhone. The mobile app works fine but the desktop one for some reason suddenly tells me that the songs are unavailable, no matter which artist/album/song I click on. I tried reinstall Spotify a couple of times already but the problem doesn't seem to go away. Did anyone experience an issue like this?

That's weird. I also use Windows 10 and an iPhone on Premium, but right now I'm not having any problems.  let's see what we can do about it. It would be really helpful if you could give me a bit more info.

  • Could you tell me the exact error message?
  • Did you do anything 'out of the ordinary' before this happened? (Did you have an update from Windows or something like that?) If so please tell me so I can try to reproduce the problem.

 

I know you've already reinstalled a few times, but can you please check if you followed the steps below? Maybe you didn't fully remove Spotify, so it's always better to check. 😉

 

First delete Spotify completely (Configuration screen>Programs>Spotify>Delete) then click here (spotify.com/download) to reinstall it. Do not install Spotify from anywhere else!

Hi @musiccornercv! thank you for the reply, I restarted the computer a couple of times and it suddenly started working again. But anyway, it didn't give me any specific error message, it just said 'the song is unavailable' on every song that I clicked on. It might have been something related to my computer rather than spotify.
