My Question or Issue

I have already been a Premium user in the past using the student plan. I used my cards, but now when i tried to choose cards as a method it redirect me to options with no cards.

I'm having problems for student plans, I can see credit or debit card option for monthly subscription but the card's info box doesn't shows on the next page. I have tried using chrome, edge, and mobile version chrome, saving card info on my account, but nothing works. It does shows for normal premium but I won't use it since I can use student plans. I've been using student plans for years, but this has never happened before. Is there anything I can do or is it just doesn't work for student plans?

Can you send me a screenshot of what you're seeing exactly? Make sure to hide sensitive info when posting to the Community. 

 

In addition to that, can you let me know if you've used Premium Student for more than four years? You mentioned that you have tried extensive troubleshooting steps, can you also see if this happens when you create a new test Spotify account here


Once I get some more information I'll see what to suggest.

This screenshot shows what I'm seeing after I choose Premium Student, then choosing Credit card and Debit card.

 

Yes, I have been using it for four years more or less, I'm not sure if it's exactly four years, the oldest receipt I can find in my email is in January 2020 and I used other plans in between.

I can't check if it happens with new account, cause it needs SheerID verification and I used my data on my main account.

Thanks for your reply and the info provided.

 

Payments through debit/credit cards are available for Premium Students. Try doing it again from a different device and with a different internet connection. On another note, we understand you don't have another account, but try selecting a different subscription like Premium Individual, and select the debit/credit option. This is just to check if you have the same issue and the option to enter the card details disappears, you don't have to complete the process.

Hey @Susan_GP sorry for the late reply. I decided to use one-time payment for last month.

I have checked other plans (Premium Individual, Premium Family, and Premium Duo), all of them has option for debit/credit cards payment but not for Premium Student. I have tried checking it on another device and internet connection but nothing changes.

Premium Student can be used for a maximum of four years, after which it becomes unavailable.
Sorry to say I believe this is what has happened here - you seem to have reached the limit and the receipt from January 2020 supports this thought.

Your account contents will remain intact even if you decide to remain on the free tier of the app, but should you wish to enjoy some Premium time again at some point, feel free to pick one of the other available Premium plans!

P.S. Keep in mind that, if you're already verified for the Student plan and are receiving the error on the checkout page, you can try using a different payment method, as reaching the checkout page would technically mean you're still eligible.

Just to check, does the option appear if you try subscribing through an incognito window in your browser? If possible, you can also give it a try using another device and internet connection.

You can also double-check which payment methods are available for you by following the steps here.

Hi, so I just verified myself to be available for student plan on Spotify (Indonesia) and when I choose cards as payment option, it redirects to a new page but the cards option disappear completely

My Question or Issue


I used to have premium account but I downgrade to free when I stop listening to music (personal reason.) Now I'm planning to get back to it and I noticed that there is a discount for students, so I tried that.

After being verified by sheerid I continued on upgrading to student account until the part where I have to choose payment method (pic 1). So I choose monthly payment with credit card because I own a Mastercard. But at the next page when I have to confirm (pic 2,) the options for credit card and PayPal are missing. The same thing also happened if I choose monthly payment with PayPal.

I'm tried using both chrome and firefox to do this, both are updated.

Please try using a different device 🙂 If the issue persists, then most likely no additional payment methods are available for the plan you'd like to get.

 

Keep in mind that the availability of payment methods can change over time and can vary between plans as well as per country/region.

Thanks for replying, I've tried using my android phone with my mobile data and it threw an error page at the part where I supposed to choose payment method.
