Missing songs from playlist?

Missing songs from playlist?

My Question or Issue

This morning when I opened Spotify in PC I discovered that songs which I have added since January into my playlist are gone. And it seems it has synced that same state to all of my other devices ..
And the last 3 songs .. "Date added" is wrong .. One which shows "1 week ago" was added on first days of the year ..

Tried to use Crtl + Z to undo maybe accidental deleting, but pretty sure it's not that.

Spotify database problem?

Is there any way to recover that playlist back to some previous state?

or smth?

Thanks!

Hey there @ergo75,

Thanks for posting in the Community and welcome.

Sometimes content is removed from Spotify due to licensing changes. Just to confirm if this is the case, can you see those songs grayed out on the playlist you mentioned, or you can't see them at all? It'd be awesome if you could check. To check it, just head to the Spotify app Settings and privacy on mobile> Playback> Show unavailable songs

If this setting is active, it'll show all the songs on your mobile device, but the app will only play the available ones. On the desktop, those unavailable songs are visible by default. It's expected that the changes made on a playlist are synced between devices. That might explain why you see the changes to the devices where your account is opened.

Now, regarding the date added issue, we recommend you to perform a clean reinstall of the Spotify app on your computer. By doing that, the app can be up-to-date, and you can make sure the cache is not leading to this inconvenience. You can see the steps for a clean reinstall here.

Hi!

1) No, content isn't removed from Spotify and some old stuff, which has been removed - I can see them grayed out.

2) Nope, reinstall doesn't do anything.

Still my best guess is that it's some database corruption or smth like that..

Only if I could have my last 30-40 days complete listening statistics .. I could recover that list quite easily ..

Hey @ergo75,

Thanks for your reply and for the info shared.

In this case, we suggest you download your data from your Privacy settings under Download your data on your account page. That will help you find out the songs that you noticed were removed.

On another note, it might be worth securing your account by following the steps in this article. If perhaps your account is linked to an external app (such as Apple, Google or Facebook), we'd suggest you reset the password from there as well.

We'll be on the lookout!

I used to have a premium spotify account and a playlist with more than 900 songs. THen I canceled it and recently became premium again however most songs are gone and the playlis only has 300 songs. what can I do?

Seems like every so often songs disappear off playlists that I know where on even some playlists I haven't listened too in a while so I know I'm not doing this by accident

I'm trying to remember some songs recently made unavailable on Spotify - but can not longer find  Settings and privacy on mobile> Playback> Show unavailable songs

Has this setting been removed by Spotify ?   I cannot find it on any of my devices.
