Please give the users the option to customize how their name appears to friends, something like "display nickname".
I have a premium account from long time, created from facebook access. But now that I've deleted my facebook account (since I do not want to use FB anymore) my user appears as a weird number to my contacts.
The option "create a new spotify account from scratch with another email address and ask customer support to move my playlists etc." (also likely disabling and re-activating back the premium) is simply risky and not up to a service like Spotify.

It's not possible to change your username, but you can add a display name following these steps.

On the mobile app and hit:
- settings
- view profile
- now it should say edit profile right underneath

You can upload a pic from your phone and change your display name it will show to your friends & on playlists you made
