Can't create account. Can't reset password. Never get reset email

Can't create account. Can't reset password. Never get reset email

I canceled my account to create a new one with a better username. Now the system won't let me create a new account with the old email. Says I have an account and login. When I try to reset my password, it ways a reset email has been sent but I never receive one.

Hey  @mhcarpenter49, thanks for reaching out to the Community!

When you close an account - the wait to sign up for another account using the old email address can take anywhere between 7-14 days - and the latest is 30 days. If it has not passed that timeframe, it may be why you are unable to create a new account using the old email address.

If you are trying to reinstate the old account, keep in mind that after you close your account, Spotify emails you a link that you can use to reactivate it within 7 days. After those 7 days, your account cannot be reactivated and the process to delete your data will be initiated.

Hope this helps!

Yes! That's the info I needed. I never got the email to re-instate so I guess I'll just have to wait the 7-14-30 days.

Hey @mhcarpenter49,

Thanks for the reply. You could also check your spam/junk folders for the reinstate link as it should be sent the moment you initiate the account closure. If you are still able to log in to the old account, that means it’s not closed.

Let me know if you need further help!
