Changing username

Hi,

I recently changed over my personal profile information in order to pay for my subscription on my own, rather than having someone else pay for it. 

Since I am now the one funding the account, I would really like to have the username be my own actual name and not someone else’s. 

I understand that Spotify allows you to change your display name, but not your actual username. This is especially troubling when I want to give people my Spotify information. I would really like to remain on this account as to not lose all of my liked songs and playlists. 

Who can I get in contact with to change my username into something more suitable for me?

Thanks for posting in the Community!

Your username is an unique account identifier and as such cannot currently be altered.
Your display name however is the one that is shown to the public and it is indeed changeable.

Right now I’m crying whilst writing this because Spotify won’t allow me to change my username because it “identifies” me. However my username was made when I was a child now I’m a legal adult, and my username contains my full legal name (my dead name as well). Because of me being a stupid kid, I’ve been doxxed so many times on social media. I just want them to change my username. I’m begging support but nothing will happen. I’m crying so badly. The display does nothing because when someone presses the URL, they see my full legal name, including my first name, the beginning of my middle name and my surname. Why can’t Spotify let me change it? It’s my private information. I’m begging please!
