When you sign up for a free trial or update your payment details, you may notice an authorization charge for a small amount on your account. This is Spotify’s way of verifying the validity of your payment method. It’s only a temporary hold and will disappear shortly.

Although Spotify releases these funds immediately, it may take longer for your bank to process the transaction.
