Logged in on someone else's Facebook, permamently!

Hi

So, I'm a Spotify Premium user. My phone had died, so I used my brother's phone to log into Spotify to play some tunes at a party. I mistakenly logged in with Facebook, so now my account seems to have been assigned to his Facebook account permamently.

He's logged out on his phone, and even deleted the app, but it's no good! So I now can't access my account, even though I'm paying for it. Very frustrating. If I log in with my own Facebook account (which seems to be my only option) I am not on Premium, and all my playlists have gone.

I could start a whole new account, but I really don't want to lose all those lovely Playlists I've created over the last 3 years. I also can't contact Spotify customer services without logging in, which I obviously can't do!

correction - I can log in!  I was being dumb. but with the account that can't access anything.. will try customer services...

Hi twommy - It looks as though your Facebook was linked to your brother's 'twommy' account. Not to worry, I've just disconnected the two. 

Please try signing in with your Facebook email and password. If you're still having trouble give me a shout here.

Still having issues I'm afraid.

On my PC desktop I'm logged in as twommy, and all myplaylists are there, but it no longer seems connected to my own facebook account (Tom Madders).

And on my Samsung, when I log in all my playlists are gone and I can't play anything because it says I'm not on premium.

So I think maybe you've connected twommy to the wrong FB account? Please connect it to Tom Madders.

"twommy" is currently not connected to any Facebook account. To connect, head to your Preferences menu, scroll down to the Social Networking tab and select "Connect to Facebook".

That account should also be running on Premium now. Ensure you're logging in using "twommy" as your username, rather than an email address.

HELLLPPP!! Did you ever fix this problem?? I've now had the same problem for months I cant listen to music as tit logs me in as my friend and when she listens to music I get kicked off!!!! so annoying!! why am I paying for this service so frustrating would be amazing to know how you fixed it if you managed to fix it spotify are not getting back to me either

Are you logging in with a Spotify username and password or using your Facebook details?

hi! oh thank you for the welcome 🙂 I've done both. I've literally been trying every combination possible of logging off quitting app, logging back on via both facebook and spotify for months now, always has the same outcome 😞 I log in with my details- and it insusts taht I'm my friend hannah and after a short time kicks me off because she is elsewhere on her spotify! Its actually making me want to tear my hair out how can there be such an annoying fault on there? no ones getting back to me at spotify I'm desperate too sort it 😞 😞 😞 😞 😞 :'( :'(

I would suggest you try the following steps:

1. Log out of Spotify.

2. Log in using your Spotify username and password.

3. Go to Edit > Preferences > Social Network and press the "Disconnect from Facebook" button. That should remove the link between your accounts. You can then link your own Facebook by pressing the "Connect to Facebook" button.

Help! Looks like I've become victim of this too. Logged into MY account at my friends house and now my account permanently thinks I am him complete with his facebook picture. Anything I can do?

I am having the same issue. Tried to disconnect the account from Facebook that my wife has but no luck. When I log in at user "atskii" her name appers, "AnneliesL..." 

What do I do? Please advice. Thank you.

It can take up to 48 hours for the name to disappear. You should be good by now

My phone's app is connected to someone else's facebook profile.  I want to login using my Facebook profile.  My facebook was recently hacked so I changed the password and I guess i am now logged on spotify via facebook with the hackers account.  This is so frusturating! Ive tried everything

Same here. Just that when I get notifications, they appear on my email not on my friend's email or facebook account, although is logged in with my friend's facebook.
