When in offline mode and your logged out you have to delete the app or remove all storage to login. Having to redownload all your music as well, just to be able to login again. If offline mode is selected, login session info should be moved to cache, so only that has to be removed to be able to login again and you don't have to redownload your music.
Hey @WilcoSnel,
Thanks for reaching out. We've moved your post to the Help board as it better fits here.
We've tested this on our end, however, we couldn't reproduce the issue. Would it be possible to check if the same happens when you try to log in to a different account on your device? What about a different mobile device (preferably a different brand)?
Let us know how it goes.
This happens when you're forced logged off for some reason. Not when you log out manually. So please put this back to the original location. It already had 2 likes, so seems other people want this functionality
Hey @WilcoSnel,
Thanks for getting back to us with this info.
This behavior isn't expected so we'd like to investigate it further. Can you please confirm you were unable to log in even when the app had access to the internet? Did you have to update your password before you successfully logged in?
Keep us posted.
It happens when you're forced logged off when offline mode is enabled. I have Internet connection when trying to login, but it doesn't allow me (because of offline mode). I can reset the password all I want. It won't allow me in. Furthermore I know the password is correct as I can login to the website (and this community) with the same credentials. I have to remove and reinstall the app or remove all data of the app (just cache is not enough) to be able to login again.
Hey @WilcoSnel,
Thanks for your reply.
Could you let us know what exactly you mean by "force log off"?
On another note, sending us the the exact make/model, operating system and Spotify version of your device would come in handy.
We'll be on the lookout.
Forced logged off as in I open the app and I'm logged off, even though I didn't log off manually.
Sony Xperia XZ1 compact
Lineage OS 20, Android 13

Hi @WilcoSnel,
Thanks for your reply.
We can confirm that the app shouldn't log you out.
In this case, we'd recommend following these specific steps:
It's also worth checking the apps that are linked to your Spotify account on your account page under Apps and remove any you don't recognize. You can find out more tips on how to protect your account here.
If the issue persists afterwards, we suggest that you reach out to our Support team through any of these channels so they can take a closer look at your account and further assist you with this.
Let us know how it goes.
I've already done the above several times. Already contacted support as well. They were not helpful, as they said they didn't see enough reports of others with this issue to forward it to the dev's so they could have a look. They basically said it's my device that's the problem and I should deal with it...
Hey @WilcoSnel,
Thanks for your reply and for the info shared.
We'd like to add some insights. Just to clarify, the app shouldn't log you out by itself, the session should stay active even if you enable the offline mode.
That being said, even if we haven't received similar reports, we suspect someone could be accessing your account. Since you mentioned you already follow some steps to secured your account, we'd suggest changing the log in details in case they're compromised. You can change the email address your account is linked to by following these steps.
Keep in mind there are a few ways to sign up, e.g. with email, phone number, Facebook, Apple, or Google. If perhaps you created your account with one of those services, or if your account is connected to one of them, we'd recommend changing the password there as well. If your account is connect to other services, you can log in with them and have direct access of your account. Give it a try and let us know how it goes.
Keep us in the loop!
Ok, couple things here. I did notice a few weeks back that some unknown playlists were added without my consent. I then logged out all sessions through the site, checked connected apps (there were none) and reset my account. But this problem predates that. Anyway I don't have mail address lying around and don't want to create one for this. So just reset my password again. Furthermore, why didn't I receive confirmation that I was logged on, on a new device including location? Or a DFA mail to allow it?
Hey there @WilcoSnel,
Thanks for your reply and for the detailed info.
We understand where you're coming from. Since you wouldn't like to create a new email address, we think it's worth contacting once more our Customer Support team. As mentioned above and according to what you kindly mentioned, we think this is more related to someone else accessing your account than a tech inconvenience per se.
Our Customer Support team can help check your account and verify if perhaps it was created with an external service. For example, if you signed up with Facebook, you can't manually disconnect your account from it. In that scenario, you'll need the assistance from Customer Support. You can reach out to them asking for further info and if you wish, they can help unlink any external services you can't disconnect from your side. From Community, we don't have access to our users' accounts, so we can't be sure if this is your case.
On another note, since you mentioned you were not notified from any not recognized log-ins on your account, we encourage you to check your junk/spam folder or that you don't have our emails blocked. You can read more about it in this article.
Hope this helps. Please keep us in the loop about this, we'll be on the lookout.
My Facebook account was still connected. It has been disconnected to be sure. Still having issues. Mainly after a reboot. I'm force logged out. Still have the issue I cannot login while in offline mode. I have to remove the entire app and it's data so that I can login again. And after that have to redownload all my music... So no progress...
