Spotify downloads time limit

Spotify downloads time limit

I'm really annoyed with the time limit on downloads, I've already lost lots of songs in the past and I now have 19 hours to download 26 tracks or I'll lose them. Surely there has to be some consumer right law in place, I've paid for them, why take them away? It makes no sense and I find this infuriating, I already spend £10 a month for premium usage, which I don't mind as I think the service is great but don’t take song download tokens off me, which I've already paid for, just because I didn't particularly fancy downloading any music in the allotted time.

I'll be making some enquiries about this as I think it's fully unjust.

Spotify introduced this system to actually give you more flexibility, not less.

Most music purchasing systems invite you to choose your music immediately. If you want to take advantage of any bulk discount - buying a number of tracks at once, you have to choose those tracks at that time. You don't get 30 days. You get no days at all. The Spotify Download store gives you the opportunity to "buy" a larger number of tracks, and get a discount in the process. However, you don't need to actually make your choice for at least 30 days.

All very well but Spotify above all, is a music streaming service offering social connectivity, it's not a store, in the usualy sense, so shouldn't be compared to one. I will be looking further in to this.

Spotify isn't only a music streaming service. Spotify is a music platform. The intention is to integrate all the features that would improve the usefulness of that platform to it's users. For instance, all users can import their existing music collection locally into their library. In markets where the Download store is currently available, Spotify is an online "music store" too - much like any other music store, except that the system for gaining discounts for bulk purchases allows the customer some time to make a choice about the specific tracks they would like to buy.
