Starred songs station....

So I'm just wondering how the "starred" station works.  I figured it would be based off the songs and artist that I currently have starred.  I've listen to this station all afternoon, and only two times has a song come up by one of the artists I have starred.  Only twice?!  Most of the other songs were electronic artist songs that I didn't even recognize.  I have about forty starred songs with only a couple electronic songs, the rest are rock artists.  I realize that there will be songs and artists that are on the station that I don't recognize, but  I don't understand how for hours on end I only hear electronic artists (most of which I've never heard of before), not one rock song came up.  Can somebody explain what the starred station is then??

starred songs keep disappering so dont rely on it!

I've seen post about that.  But I only have 39 starred songs, and none have disappered yet.  I'm just disappointed about the starred radio... which apparently is just random and isn't based off any starred song info.
