is there a way to reset your listen history?

me and my friends have just made a blend playlist and it is adding songs that we dont even listen to and or haven't listened to in over 5+ months. its really annoying when the blend makes absolute HEAT but then throws in a bunch of random country songs (none of us listen to any country mostly rap) or adding a bunch of random meme songs. really ruins the vibe. id love to find a way to fix this without making all of us delete and remake out Spotify accounts

Unfortunately, there isn't a way to clear your music history/taste. However, you can find some steps to improve your music recommendations here. I'd also recommend using a Private Session if you don't want specific songs to interfere with your recommendations. Keep in mind you can also hide any songs you don't like in your Blend (or other) playlists.

Private session is not a viable alternative to just removing songs and artists from the listening history. Many users have complained about it not being visible, or easily accessible. Not to mention it must be manually activated and has an expiration time. It is not used because it is too inconvenient. Why turn it on for a 15 minuet car ride if I could just delete the track later?

Not being able to remove tracks hinders Spotify's algorithm and deters listeners from discovering new artists out of fear that they won't like the artist's work, but it will be too ingrained into the algorithm for them to course correct.

The Idea for reinstating control over listening history has been a Live Idea since 2019 and has more than sufficient votes to move on to Under Consideration. There are ideas in the Under Consideration category with only 40 votes, compared to the more than 3000 that reinstating listening history control has. Please re-evaluate your company priorities, as it's been almost five years since that Idea went up and met it's required goals.

I'd love to be able to manually remove songs from my listening history, my father played a bunch of songs not knowing he was listening to them on my account and now they're in my listening history forever and are causing me to get terrible, I mean seriously terrible song suggestions.

how do we upvote this into an actual change? My girl played one Taylor song and now spotify thinks that a single pop song in a library full of blues, metal, and rap means that i listen to only pop. I'm so, so, so sick of **bleep** like this, in addition to everyone else's complaints. It's abhorrent that you can't tailor your music...ISN'T THAT THE WHOLE POINT OF THE APP?!?

Spotify pays artists the least of any streaming platform as well. You'd think they could afford to make an app with requested features that honestly shouldn't have to be requested to begin with.
