"There was a problem" address validation to join plan

Solved!

"There was a problem" address validation to join plan

I have been on a premium family plan. Trying to join spouse's "Duo" plan instead. They send me the invite link, I click it, log in/confirm my account, enter our address (which goes through the USPS validation and is 100% correct), and I get a "There was a problem. Please try again later" error.

I've tried it across two days. Computer and mobile. Incognito browser. Multiple invite links shared a couple different ways. etc. Please help.

Hey @12167610200,

Thanks for joining the Spotify Community!

If you’re currently the owner of a Premium Family plan, you’ll need to cancel it and wait for the subscription to fully end.

Once that’s done, you should have no trouble accepting the invite to the Premium Duo plan.

Hope this helps! 🙂

Thank you! I'll give it a shot next week when the subscription ends and will then confirm if this resolved it. Appreciate the quick help!

I have changed my subscription from Premium individual to Duo to add my wife, but despite entering an explicit address, including property name, village, postal town, county, country and postcode, apparently Google maps can't find it. I subsequently tried entering my address directly into Google Maps, but it can't find it/doesn't list it, so maybe Spotify should either allow direct manual entry, or use a location service like "what three words". I notice this is an ongoing problem, so if there's no fix, maybe I will have to migrate to another streaming service

Hey there @ArfurM,

Thanks for reaching out.

If you still can’t find your address, you can try selecting your building, street name, or a close public space or building. Just make sure to not use someone else's address.

In case that doesn't work either, another thing you could try is setting up a Plus Code here to add as your Spotify address.

Keep us posted on how it goes.
