3.9 of Data used in the background in one day

I had my rollover data added on the 9th by the 11th I had used 80% of data ..I was shocked as I had done nothing different from one day to the next.. so angry rang my provider and went down to the shop and they saw it was spotify overnight in the background they had never seen anything like this .. so angry .. had anyone else had this
