A little help needed.

A little help needed.

Hi everyone

I wanted to know how does spotify works. I have been using it for sometime what I can't seem to understand is even if i just stream a song (not even saving it on playlist or anything ) it is occupying my space in the storage i.e. just listening to songs is occupying disk storage.I listened to only 2 songs and it ate up 30mb of data in the storage and not in cache.I have attached a screenshot of my spotify app information. Why is it using internal stroage space for just streaming songs ?

Thanks in advance.

Hi. It's the cache as explained here.

Hello

No it is not about cache. I mean ideally it should be filling up the cache memory but it isn't. It is taking up data storage.I am  attaching a screenshot of my app info of spotify so you can get a better idea of what i am saying.

Spotify creates its cache in the folder android/data/com.spotify.music which is recognised by the android OS as app data. Unfortunately, spotify doesn't work like a well-begaved android app should in many ways as you'll find out the more you use it.
