Android 4.4 Kitkat

Android 4.4 Kitkat

I was under the impression that the spotify app for android was not able to save information to the external SD card, due to how the 4.4 android system is set up not allowing third party apps the write permission for them to do so? The reason I ask is that I was looking at my internal and external memory through my PC and I noticed on the external SD card that the spotify information was there and not in the internal memory. I am a bit confused on this? Spotify app version is 1.1.0.113, Android 4.4 kernel 3.4.0+ device is an LG L34C same as the LG Zone 2. Any clarification would be welcome on this. Did the android spotify app guys do some fix and I just happen to have it or what? I would like to know as I only have a 4 gig external SD card and was thinking of getting the max allowed for my phone of 32 gig for music, spotify app use, and pictures. So if the android spotify app I have can write to the external card, I should be able to use it for offline playlists and local music file playback correct? I mean right now I am manually loading my local music a little at a time onto my external SD card for my own use and using the standard android music player app until I get a bigger card, as I am seriously limited by space.
