I appreciate that this might not be the right category for the issue, but it is hard to tell, and apologies if it is the wrong category.
I have a premium account. I use Spotify in three ways. Streaming over my Squeezebox Server, running directly over the Windows client (W7) and offline on my Android phone.
I'm not 100% on the finer details of the premium account, but I suspect I can only be playing/streaming music in one of these modes at any time. That might not be the case but I'm fine if it is.
The problem I have is probably with the Windows client. This automatically launches when my home PC boots. Sure, it doesn't need to launch, but it is quite convenient to have it do so. Meanwhile my Squeezebox Server will also launch. Note, I'm not PLAYING anything at this point.
Squeezebox Server seems ok streaming Spotify even if the Windows client is running and logged in, though I think it stops (understandably?) if I streamed via the Windows client.
However if I'm listening to offline tracks on the Android app and the PC boots up (i.e. Spotify Windows client is launched and logs in) I can no longer listen to offline tracks.
Now IF the Windows client was being used to sream or play tunes AND the Android app, then I wouldn't have an issue. But it seems that simply logging in via the Windows client is deemed as dominent.
Can someone tell me why this is and whether there is a workaround?
Basically I would like to listen to music (offline or not) via the Spotify Android app even if logged in via the Windows client. I'm not bothered about the Windows client dominating if being used, but being logged in and taking priority is rediculous.
Any ideas - is this an issue with the Windows client or the Android app? Can provide more info on versions and platforms if required!!

WOW! That's a really long post - I almost didn't read it 😉
Anyways, that shouldn't be happening....
Please try to reinstall the android app 🙂

Thanks guys. I'm not sure what the 'Droid SD Card issue' is, I have no problem with that, running Cyanogenmod7 on an old 2010 Xperia Mini, the main issue I think is the offline mode.
After your comments I've had a play with online/offline mode and I think that is the issue.
I still don't see why I can't listen to downloaded tracks even if the Android app is 'online', but it seems that it has to be 'offline' to work. The problem is that I do switch between modes frequently (quick sync before leaving for work for example) and I think if I am 'online' in the Android app (though only listening to downloaded tracks) then the act of logging in via the Windows client seems to dominate. Fair enough I guess, offline mode seems to do the trick.
Thats how it is. If I set my iPad to play offline synced tracks but the device is in online mode and I put my laptop to play something - it stops on the iPad and plays from the laptop.
