Android Auto - always no internet connection is shown

Solved!

Android Auto - always no internet connection is shown

Dear community, dear support,

I'm using Android Auto on my Skoda Infotainment Columbus System (Hardware H50, Software 315) connected to an Samsung S6 device (Android 6.0.1). Unfortunately it is not possible to go online. Always the message "No internet connection" appears on the screen immediately after starting the App. I can only play offline playlists.

Internet connection on the mobile device works fine, because Google and other apps are running well on the Columbus system.

Any ideas? Please let me know.

Thanks in advance

best regards,

Andre

But what was it?

Are you affected with the same issue as well? Same HW and same SW of the Columbus device?

Yes, I also have Skoda. Having similar problem with WV, which is frustrating.

I am connected to Internet, but when I use Android Auto and open Spotify, it reports that I have no Internet connection, which is not the case.

I propose to proceed in the following sequence:

  1. restart mobile device
  2. delete car profile in android auto
  3. setup the connectio from scratch
  4. check on your android device the backgroud data settings
    1. Settings
    2. Data usage
    3. select MOBILE / not WI-FI
    4. MORE
    5. Set "Rescrict background data" to OFF
    6. doubble check this setting on the application SPOTIFY by clicking the applications name within the list
  5. restart mobile device
  6. connect to the car
  7. check success
  8. let me know

Hi, did the solution fix your issue?

I was having a very similar problem.

Using your steps I just made sure the background data usage allowed cellular (it wasn't when I checked) and then a quick restart of the phone. I found I didn't need to do any of the rest.

It also helped to me. I got new Astra K Sports Tourer.
