Hi there,
I've a Sony Bravia X8500F and I use Spotify constantly for hours every day.
The issue is that, every day, after few hours of listening, Spotify starts to freeze and then freezes the whole TV, remote doesn't work anymore, I can only unplug the tv and reset it.
If I kill the Spotify app when it starts to slow down, the TV become responsive again, so it's definitely a Spotify issue.
I've a family plan and use Spotify connect with 3 accounts and switch between them quite often.
The TV is updated with the latest AndroidTV OS (I think 8?).
Let me know if you need more info.
Thank you.
Any updates on this?
same over here; I got a new sony x750f just a week ago and I got the same probleme using spotify
As a workaround I discovered that enabling developer options on the tv and then enabling "Don't keep activities" will almost solve the issue.
The downside is that every app is killed as soon you return to the home screen, but in Spotify case is good.
I suppose the main issue here is Android memory management, not sure the Spotify team can do much about it, maybe only try to make the app more lightweight.
I can confirm the same behavior on Philips 48PUS7600/R3 with Android 8
