[Android TV] Oreo Sony TV enters a single "K" whenever a search is started

My Question or Issue

Since the Oreo update (which thankfully fixed the stuttering/crashing issues) brought with it a new issue: Every time I go to enter a search using the onscreen keyboard (gboard) upon hitting the "ok" button on the remote to tell spotify to call gboard to launch, gboard will launch, BUT it also automatically enters a "k" in the search field. I have to go and clear the search in order for me to then search for the term I am looking for.

-This only occurs with Spotify and does not happen in other applications that are calling gboard, ruling out that it is an issue with the remote.

-The TV has been manually restarted through the Android TV settings menu.

-Issue persists over multiple app launches/closes.
