Android external SD card storage on Galaxy Note II

Android external SD card storage on Galaxy Note II

I am using a Galaxy Note II, it is fantastic as it has a 16Gb internal memory (well, it came with a memory card of that size) and I have installed a 64Gb external card.

So WHY CAN'T I USE THAT EXTERNAL CARD'S MEMORY TO STORE MY SPOTIFY FILES.

My whole system is jammed up because Spotify WILL NOT see the files I moved to the external memory, so I had to move them back to the phone's internal memory where Spotify DID NOT SEE THEM.

I am reading all sorts of conflicting information. Some people advocate using an older version of Spotify blah blah blah blah blah. Not interested.

I would have thought this is a simple thing to implement...... surely. So, IS THERE A SOLUTION TO THIS PROBLEM????

In the mean time, I have deleted Spotify from my mobile device.

I too am using android in the galaxy ace, but after only two days spotify cannot even do an update to my phone due to insufficiant storage.... yet i have 62.sumit GB of space on my sd card.  I will be cancelling my premium subscription before it is next due unless spotify can rectify this MASSIVE ERROR of theirs.  Big shame, as apart from this problem i think spotify rules!!

Exactly.... Sometimes the people running Spotify seem to 'miss the point'. Surely moving the files to another locations SHOULD NOT be an issue.

If I move Word files... Word can still find them. Even iTunes has the facility to find all music files on a computer... So it does not matter where and how many locations you use.

As for there FAQ section... It should be deleted as it is very confused, dated and frankly a waste of time.

Come on Spotify.

The ability to store Spotify files on an android SD card (or choose the offline storage location) has been marked as "Watch this Space" over on the ideas exchange here meaning it should be returning in a future version. As for why this functionality was removed, I have no clue! Be sure to add your kudos and comments there.

Also which FAQ are you talking about?

Peter, there is no clear information on the issue I have raised and had to generate my own post. Certainly. I couldn't find a clear answer to the issue which is a frequently asked question!

Given the Android platform is becoming so popular and not least on Samsung devices.

1. The problem I have raised should have been sorted.

2. As it hasn't, it should be simple to see an area which specifically deals with this issue.

I used what I thought was my common sense and moved the Spotify data file to the external memory then ran Spotify which could not 'see' the files. So I moved them back... And STILL could not see the files. So I deleted them and re downloaded to run out of space even though I have ever 63Gb free on my external card.

It is very very poor Peter and renders my device useless for Spotify offline use.

I did exactly the same thing..... it's extremely annoying.
