Annoying & frustating problems with the Spotify app

Annoying & frustating problems with the Spotify app

Dear people,

I am encountering some heavily annoying and frustating problems with my installation of Spotify on my Galaxy S8 G950F.

Every morning when I wake up it tells me the message that I have more than 3 offline devices and that all my downloads will be deleted. So first time i thought oh ok, it's just a matter of deleting the old offfline devices. But it keeps happening every morning and when I check all my offline devices it only has 1 and that is the one i'm using right now. Very frustating.

Second problem: The little player bar in the app itself won't show up. And whenever I press a song it will play on one of my Spotify Connect speakers. Only way to solve this is to go into the settings and choose: "Connect to a device" that way, the player bar shows up again.

I have tried multiple versions of the app including the latest one, a version from 8 January 2018 ( downloaded from APKMirror)  and a beta version.

It's so frustating and I have so much trouble using the app now because I listen to alot of music on a daily basis.

I love the app and all, but ever since this started happening I have been annoyed to the fullest.

If anyone has any suggestions on what to try, they are welcome. Because I can't seem to know what will help it to stop doing this,

Thanks in advance,

Jeroen

Hey @jeroendv9,

Yeah, it sounds very annoying! So let's fix that!

  • Have you tried resetting your password as somebody may be accessing your account? (I'm not certain of this, but, better to be safe)
  • Maybe try to delete your offline devices and see if that fixes the issue, even though you only have one.
  • Have you tried reinstalling the app from the Play Store?

     2.     The player bar doesn't show up

  • Again I'll suggest reinstalling the app via the Play Store
  • Have you tried switching off your Spotify Connect speakers when you start to use Spotify to see if that changes anything?

Let me know how you go! If none of the above works I will try and find something else for you!

Best,

Jordan

I tried both, completely deleting the app & reinstalling it. And with the Spotify Connect speakers turned off works. I deleted the offline devices but I only get it at around like 1 AM.

Also have another issue. When I connect to a Spotify Connect speaker and try to select "This Phone" or a other device. It says:"start playing some music to connect to a device." Or something like that. I am clueless.

Thanks anyway for the response, if you know anything let me know.
