Audio Stutters on Galaxy Note 2 After Most Recent Update

Audio Stutters on Galaxy Note 2 After Most Recent Update

Hi all,

I'm looking for some tips or help with audio stutter on a Galaxy Note 2 after updating to 1.1.2.453 and playing music from an offline playlist.

The stuttering is very similar to a CD skipping (brief moment of no music / very low quality audio) and back to normal. This only seems to occur when the screen is locked, but the skipping itself is random (does frequently occur right when locking and then intermittently afterwards every several seconds sometimes). I'm running Android 4.4.2.

Specs

Spotify: 1.1.2.453

Android Version: 4.4.2

Model: Galaxy Note 2

Symptoms: Skipping / stuttering audio from an offline playlist when screen is locked.

Thanks!

I'd also like to point out I don't consider rooting my phone an option in any way.

Spotify as an app needs to be able to run with the screen locked without rooting your phone. Period. Older versions of Spotify are known to have worked fine in the past, it's only new versions of Spotify that seem to have this issue.

Are you using the spotify audio effects? Try turning those off together with any other equaliser including the built-in one. If that doesn't work, could you see if you get the same thing happening with other music apps when the sreen goes off?
