My Question or Issue

Bass boost pre-set not available since last spotify app update. Tried manually adjusting the equilizer but the sound is drastically different than before. Is the bass boost button missing or has it been removed?

Hey @JenBev,

Thank you for reaching out to the Community and welcome.

These types of issues related to missing options are commonly related to some damaged cache stored on your device. In this case, we'd first recommend performing a clean reinstall of the app by following the steps in this article.

If the issue persists, would you mind checking on a different device (using your own account) to see if it makes any difference? If you don't have another one available, you can borrow one from a friend or family member to test it out.

Lastly, include in your next response the OS version of your device, along with the Spotify version you're currently running to continue investigating the case.

We'll be on the lookout.

OS Version: Galaxy S21 5G (One UI version 5.1 & Android Version 13)

Spotify Version: 8.8.90.893

Re-downloading Spotify did not fix the issue. Sound quality is decreased while using Android Auto in my vehicle. Using spotify on bluetooth only in my vehicle improves the audio quality. Seems like its an compatability issue between Android Auto and Spotify. Putting the equalizer settings back to "normal" has helped but did not solve the issue.

Thanks for the info @JenBev,

Could you check and confirm if the sound quality issue persists when you're not using Android Auto and when using another device?

Keep us posted.
