Battery usage on Experia

Hello, i have been using spotify on my phone for a while now, but a few weeks ago the phone suddenly started dying in the middle of the day. After some testing i have pinned it down to spotify using a lot of battery (while not showing this in battery stats).

The phone is fine during a normal day, i can get two days out of it if i don't have the screen on too much. But when i use spotify now it can use about 30-40% of battery in 30 minutes.

I have tried: going to 3g instead of 4g, making sure the wifi is correct, selecting "normal quality" for songs in spotify, re-installing phone, resetting app settings, clearing app cache, resetting password on spotify account, not using spotify.

The only thing that works is not using spotify.

Can anyone shed some light on this?

Or if all else fails, a valid alternative? Maybe i should try out google play for a while.
