Blackouts while listening on Android

Blackouts while listening on Android

Hello Spotify community, I'm using Spotify Premium for a couple of days now and I'm very happy with that. But I've discovered that sometimes there are "blackouts" when I'm listening to music on my mobile (Samsung Galaxy S2, Cyanogenmod 10.1.3 RC2). With "blackouts" I mean, the timeline is running, but the sound is missing at the same time. After a few seconds it goes the normal way again and works fine. I redownloaded some of the songs, but the problem is still there. When I listen to these tracks on my computer, I don't have any trouble. Should I reinstall the whole app and/or delete the cache, etc? Are some other people here having the same issue? Best regards and thank you, Julian

Reinstalling is a good place to start in pinning down the issue. Could you clear the cache from the android app menu before uninstalling.

I have similar issue.

I bought my brand new Asus Nexus 7 4G/LTE yesterday and upgraded to 4.3.1 android. And now I am disappointed that spotify is not working.

I have tried with my mobile data and with my wlan+adsl and it is doing the same.

What might be the problem. I have had spotify for one day so I think I should not need to re install it.

What exactly isn't working for you? More details will help with troubleshooting.

Those "blackouts" as mentioned in first post. Timeline is forwarding but sound stops.

@karbas Has it worked properly for you in the past? Could you try reinstalling the app.

Hello, I've reinstalled Spotify and deleted the cache, but the problem didn't disappear. Then I've found out, these "blackouts" were made by my headphones. I recognized this while I was listening through the loudspeakers (without any sound problems). So I'll have to buy new one I think! Thanks anyway for your help! Best regards, Julian

Well I have owned my asus nexus 7 (my first android device) for a two days now. So I haven't used spotify earlier in android.

@Julian1988 Thanks for reporting back. Hopefully all will be well once you have the new headphones.

@karbas Is the music breaking up when you are streaming from spotify or playing local files?

It happens so far while listening to local files (offline mode). I will check it also in online mode and let you know. Strange thing is, when I'm listening to my mp3 audio files on my smartphone with local audio player, I don't have these "blackouts". So I'm not sure about the error cause (I need another pair of headphone to check this).

The same problems ("blackouts") in online mode! 😞

I am streaming from spotify. Reinstalling didn't help. I am using spotify with same wlan succescully on my laptop.
