Bug: Android Auto inconsistent sorting of albums

Bug: Android Auto inconsistent sorting of albums

A few months ago, when using Spotify via Android Auto, it behaved like this:

  • Go to your music library
  • Select Albums
  • Albums are sorted by Artist, which is good IMHO because you can find them faster
  • Select a start letter to find what you're searching for
  • Albums are still sorted by Artist, so if I selected F, I would  for example find the Foo Fighters Albums in my library

But since a while now, behaviour changed. Now It's like this:

  • The initial list of albums when you go to your albums, is still sorted by Artist
  • This makes me expect that, when I select a letter, I would find albums of artists that start with that letter.
  • But actually, when I now select a letter, it shows me albums that start with that letter, which is not what I expected. So selecting F would not show me the Foo Fighters albums (except the self titled one obiously), but for all other ones I would have to remember the album title

This only relates to Android Auto

Is this a bug or a feature? Imho, the old behaviour was much better. I don't find it quite user friendly, when selecting a letter changes the way the items are sorted.

And I think most people would remember the artist of their albums better then the album titles. So why did this behaviour change?
