Can't delete app data/reach offline songs in my SD card (Android 6)

Can't delete app data/reach offline songs in my SD card (Android 6)

All of a sudden the offline songs I had on my Sansung Galaxy J5 weren't accessible without Internet connection but the phone told me that Spotify app still used 900 MB for my data (excluding app size). They are stored in my SD card. I tried deleting app data from Spotify app which didn't work. I didn't work either through phone settings. Reinstalling the app didn't help.

After a few attempts I managed to reduce data size to approximately 300 MB through phone settings but still couldn't delete the rest of it.

OS: Android 6

Once the cache becomes disconnected from spotify for whatever reason, you can delete it using the phone's file manager. Look for the folder android/data/com.spotify.music.

The system doesn't allow to delete them!

Can you delete the folder using a PC?

I tried that too and it didn't work either

Is the SD card faulty? Can it be reformatted?

Yes. But I think I found the solution. I disabled Beyond the Lyrics in the app settings and that helped

You need to back up the files you need from your SD card and then format your SD card
