Can't log in on Android ('You are currently offline')

Hi everyone,

app worked fine for months. As I opened it today it prompted me to log in - which is weird since I didn't actively log out the last time (I never do). Upon entering my correct credentials the app tells me I need to go online because I'm alllegedly offline - I have a working Internet connection. I cannot log in at all.

Forum entries didn't help, obviously some have the same issue but there was no valid help from support so far.

Samsung Galaxy 5 neo;

Tested restarting my phone, changing my password, stopping and restarting the app, switching from WiFi to mobile network- to no avail. Some suggested reinstalling and redownloading all(!) songs - and some reported even after doing so it stopped working again a few days later.. 

Please help!

Yep, same problem here today. Has happened on numerous occasions. Been reading through pages of fed up people with the same problem. Found a fix suggestion from Spotify but that doesn't work either...
