Can't login. Says I'm in another country. Enjoying my trip?

Solved!

Can't login. Says I'm in another country. Enjoying my trip?

So my brother rings me and says he can't login to Spotify on PC, laptop, mobile etc. I say strange...I'll try mine...and lo and behold I'm having the same problem. It says I'm logging in from a different country. Errr...no. I'm still in the UK...nor have I had a holiday lately which has taken me out of the country.

My country is listed correctly as the UK in my accounts...I've re-saved my settings to see if that has made any difference...but no.

Both trying to log in with my original sign up details plus through Facebook login gives me the same problem.

I'm guessing with us both having the same problem...then it's a Spotify or internet problem? Any pointers or help would be much appreciated as this is getting annoying now.

Thanks.

It's possible that your modem/router IP address is being identified as non-UK. Try going to https://whatismyipaddress.com/ using a device connected to your Wifi and see what country is shown in the result.

Just solved it. I'll leave this here, just in case others need the help. If you are logging in via wifi on your phone switch to data and log on with that. Then switch back to wifi. I then tried logging on to web player and desktop app and they are now fine. I'm assuming logging on to the mobile app via data must have cleared something or other. Hope this helps other users having the same problem in future.

Just realised I have to keep doing it though, which is so annoying.

Thanks for the help. I have had this problem since March. My IP address states I'm in Kazakhstan when it should be UK. I got onto my provider and they said their 'third party' has been having problems with IP address issues and it should be resolved within a week or so, so we'll see what happens. This is also why, I'm assuming, I've been barred from other sites too. Thanks again for hopefully solving the problem.

Kazakhstan! They couln't have got more obscure if they tried. I hope your ISP gets this sorted quckly for you.

I know! I'll let you know how it goes...
