Can't login to Spotify app on Android

My Question or Issue: I'm not able to login to the Spotify app. Everytime I enter in my login details I get the error: "We're currently experiencing problems. Please try again later" However I have been trying for several days and have not been able to log in. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app multiple times and changed my password multiple times but I still can't log in. I am able to log in on the web player though. I don't have a Facebook account so that is not the issue.

EDIT: I "fixed" the issue by signing up for the Alpha program and using that version.
