Can't share music via Spotify anymore (Android)

I've been on Spotify for a while sharing music via the app on my phone. Recently the option to share via the app is no longer available, instead I'm directed to other applications to share music with friends. Any ideas on how to rectify this?

- my Facebook account is connected to Spotify
- I'm following all those with whom I would like to share music

In this case, we recommend to reinstall the Facebook app on your Device.

I installed Facebook messenger and Facebook (I don't like the apps on my
phone but was willing to try if it resolved the issue) but this didn't
help. So I reinstalled Spotify but the problem persists.

Spotify Version: 6.5.0.1816 armV7
Phone model: Samsung Galaxy S6

Please help some more 🙂

Another user had an email from Spotify support team in which he "was told it was part of them rolling out a new feature, and that [he'll] have to deal with it until it resolves itself".
