Cannot connect to Spotify

Cannot connect to Spotify

I'm having the same problem this morning - Full message -

You are currently set to offline

Please go online to connect to Spotify.

I hit connect which either takes me back to the same message or I get a blank screen.

How do I resolve this??

I'm logged in via the desktop at the moment and it seems that I can't listen to my music here either as there is no playlist option listed.

When trying to take screenshot of message I get - Couldn't capture screenshot

Screenshots are not allowed by this app or your organisation.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Oh, additional info - I am on premium and I have not changed any passwords.

My account worked fine yesterday, I tried to use today and have this problem

Thanks

Hey @Jacqui5, welcome to the Spotify Community!

We'd recommend reinstalling the app by following the steps here. Also, if you can, the best option would be connecting to another Internet connection to see how it goes.

Take care 🙂

I am having this problem on my Samsung Galaxy S8.  I have contacted Spotify support via chat and all they did was clear my device list and have me re-install the app on my phone and then log back in, which then allows me to log back into Spotify.

Re-installing the app is *NOT* a solution.  The problem happens when I download music to my phone and then go to Offline Mode.  Re-installing the app forces me to lose all of the music that I have spent hours downloading and sorting through and then re-install it all the next time.  This needs to be fixed.  I just switched to Spotify from Groove music because it allowed me to still download music to my phone for offline playback; the problem is though, offline playback on Groove is a very broken experience if I am having to delete my app and re-install it and reinstall all of my downloaded music on a daily basis.

Please fix this problem Spotify and stop pretending that re-installing the app is a solution!
