Canvas not playing on the Oneplus Open

My Question or Issue

So I recently bought the Oneplus Open which is a foldable phone, I did notice that spotify canvas aren't playing, im assuming because of the tablet like layout ? I kinda did confirm this because on the Oneplus Open you are able to launch apps in different size/aspect ratio ( 4:3, 16:9 or fullscreen which is default behavior )

So when I launch spotify in 4:3 or 16:9 the canvas are indeed working but I have blurred/black bars on the sides which is...ugly

Are the spotify devs aware of this ? is there any plan to make canvas work when the spotify app is launch in fullscreen mode ?

Thanks for posting this thread in the Community and for the provided screenshots!

We checked this out and at the moment this is expected given the possibility to launch the app in different sizes/aspect ratio. We do however appreciate the info that you've provided and as we always strive to improve, we'll make sure to pass the feedback on to the relevant team. 

Make sure you're always using the newest Spotify version and we're here if you need help with anything else.

thank you for your answer, I guess all I can do is wait for now, hopefully some spotify devs also buy foldable phone so they get motivated to improve the layout for foldable phones 😆

Also, I found a temporary workaround

1- Force close the spotify app
2- Fold the phone to use the outer/external screen
3- Launch spotify using that external screen, canvas should work
4- Unfold the phone to switch back to internal screens, tadaa! canvas are still working 😁

Note: if you close the spotify app from the recent apps manager it still works when you open back, so far only Force Closing spotify would revert the changes, didn't check what happens in case of a phone reboot.
