My Question or Issue

I put some local files from my PC (Windows 10 OS) into a playlist to play on my phone, but some songs (and somehow specifically the ones I want to listen to) are greyed out. I've tried reinstalling spotify on both devices, deleting local files.bnk and doing a fresh scan on my PC, renaming the files, etc. However, nothing has helped. Photo attached as an example to show my issue.

These are both from the same album and folder on the PC, yet one works and the other does not (These aren't on Spotify yet so I'm using local files to cope).

Even if there aren't any solutions, I wanna at least know what could be causing the issue. Some solace in the matter, if you will.

Hey @Chicken_Lord,

That's odd. The greyed out file is stored physically on your phone, correct? Are you able to play it directly from your phone by going to Your Library > Local files?

Check if the greyed out song is an .mp3 file. While Spotify will play files in other file formats, only .mp3s can be synced between your PC and your phone.

If you use an SD card, try removing it and reinstall the mobile app by following the steps here, then reboot your phone and reinsert the SD card to see if that does the trick. If you store your local files on the SD card, it's worth changing the location to your phone's internal storage.

Let us know how it goes.
