Custom Playlist Cover Image not working anymore

Solved!

Custom Playlist Cover Image not working anymore

Hi,
Recently, I can no longer upload my own cover images for playlists. Pictures in .PNG format are now always rejected - this used to work without problems. If I try it with a .JPG, I get an error on the smartphone app when saving: "New image could not be added". On the desktop and also in the web app, the image just won't load, then Spotify hangs in the loading screen. Same for WLAN and for LTE.

System: Windows 10
Smartphone: Pixel 6 Pro, Android

Please fix that, thank you. 🙂

Hey folks,

Thanks for getting in touch about this here in the Community.

@epicvision, could you try logging out and then logging back in to your account twice in a row? This will trigger a sync between your account and device. If this doesn't do the trick, would you mind trying with a different image?

@JR_UK, would you mind trying from a different device to see if the same happens? Also, we'd like to know if this happens while using a different internet connection.

Make sure to follow these specific steps.

Keep us posted on how it goes.

Just in case: One screenshot shows the error message when I try to upload a .PNG. The other screenshot shows the error message when I try to upload a .JPG via the smartphone app. If that helps. (Sorry, they are both in German)

11.4.23 - I can no longer add an image to my playlists using iOS app version 8.8.24. I've reset my iPhone, reinstalled the app, tried different images, log out and back in. What's up?

Error message always reads "Couldn't add new image. Check your internet connection and try again. Or save changes without image".

Thank you @Eni - logging out twice helped, on all devices. By the way, a good tip, thanks!

Topic solved! 🙂

Cheers!

Hey,

I've tried this and it is still not working for me. When I upload the PNG image, the loader keeps loading and gets stuck in a loop. Why is the Spotify app so insanely bad that something simple like uploading an image to an database is not working? I would expect so much more from an app that has a development team on that scale.
