Data storage limit?

Dear all,

My app runs on a Android. My cell phone has over 5gb of free space and my Spotify app is not even 1gb heavy. I'm not even close to the 3k songs limit, I doubt if I have 100.

But anyways my app says it cannot perform a download because there is no room in disk. Are the songs downloaded to the SD card? If so, I need to buy a new one and download it all again? Because that might be the only reason, my Moto G is brand new and only the flash card memory is old, a 2gb chip I keep since 2011.

Please help me understand this issue.
