I select my external sdcard for download storage. Occasionally, the sdcard is not recognized on a phone reboot. When this happens, Spotify automatically starts downloading music to my internal storage.
1. I wish Spotify would not change to the default storage location automatically. If the storage location is changed, or in this case, cannot be accessed, I would like to see a message about it.
2. After noticing the sdcard was not recognized, I reboot the phone. This does allow me then to change the storage location back to the external sdcard. HOWEVER, it seems a) downloads from external sdcard are deleted, and b) Spotify must complete the download to internal storage, then transfer to the external sdcard. This is crazy and seemingly unnecessary.
This is really bugging me. As Android phones will, I lose connection to my sdcard upon reboot and Spotify automatically starts downloading all music to my internal memory. The only way to resolve this is multiple restarts and purging the sdcard and have the songs redownloaded. wth!
This needs to be addressed. Each time my phone losing connection with my sdcard on reboot, spotify starts downloading my songs to my internal space. This a) causes rapid power reduced, b) deplets all available space on my phone.
Occurred again... So frustrating.
Hey @sasmedia.
Thanks for getting in touch!
You'll need a stable connection between your device and SD card. Trying a different SD card could help in some cases. If the connection between your SD card and device breaks every now and then, we recommend storing your songs on the internal storage.
Hope this helps. Let us know if you have further questions.
Have a nice day.
Once again, I'm forced to redownload 4,500+ songs because Spotify automatically changed download location which was not right. This is really frustrating. Maybe time to start checking out other services.
Hapened again. It took a few reboots, but same issue; I had to completely uninstall Spotify. This is a known Android phone problem. I tried out a brand new Samsung EVO sdcard...same result.
Time to start checking out other music services.
